Okay fine, from now on, this is a zombie-free zone. You and your eyeballs are safe.
Random Tidbits from the weekend:
*Brady (4yr) has a new favorite phrase to shout at us…it sounds like this: “No, Never Again“. Brady put your toys away…No, Never Again! Brady, you need to go potty...No, Never Again. Brady, go sit in time out…No, Never Again! Awesome.
*I just noticed that the N button on my keyboard has worn off…must be typing lot negatives things….no, not, never, nada, nope…I should work on being a Yes man…wear down that Y button.
*Tomorrow is my birthday…I’m celebrating my 5th anniversary of turning 29!
*I battled for over an hour and a half at the Target Service Counter this weekend…just to get my way. One guess who won this battle. I’ll give you a hint…not me. After all I did for them over the years…slicing their ham…scrubbing their deepfryer…taking orders from their 21 yr old blonde managers wearing high heels and khaki. Who is the ‘top boss’ of Target? We need to have a chat.
*Last weekend we were up at my parents cabin, when suddenly the septic pipe backed up and water flooded the basement. I was horrified…not by the soaking wet carpet, but by the realization that indoor plumbing was not going to be an option. Korey and I took a flashlight and ventured out to the old outhouse, and spent some time in the dark scrubbing away spiders and Lord knows what else.
*I let the boys take a bath together last night (4&6 yrs)…I left them to their own devices for a bit, but quickly came running back when I heard the shouts and ensuing crashes, “CANNON BALL”!!!
*I’ve been saving a stack of books from when I was a girl (good stuff: babysitter club, Sweet Valley Twins, some Judy Blume), and I gave it all to Lucy last Friday. She is already nearly 1/2 way through the stack…I guess I underestimated her speed reading abilities…I need some thicker books for her this summer. Is a nine & a half yr old too young for Harry Potter? Narnia? 50 Shades?
*Do your husbands ever torture their children? Yesterday, the hubs (Kor) was driving the family home, when Brady started hysterically screaming that he HAD to go to the park. We said we couldn’t go (we had important business at home, there was a turkey smoking in progress), and he kept hollering. Korey went out of his way to slow the van down, and start pulling into the parking lot of a nearby playground. Brady stopped screaming, and then Kor just sped back up and continued the journey home. Well, you can imagine the psychotic break that occurred after that…geesh, he’s mean. Almost as mean as what my parents used to do to me…as a kid, we drove to Chicago a lot (all our family is there)…they used to stop at the Wisconsin Dells exit for lunch. I clearly remember eating at Culvers and staring at ‘Noah’s Ark’ across the street. Talk about torture.
Guess what is happening over here? I have an employee! Actually I have two employees…I know, you are wondering what the heck I do with myself that I need 2 employees. Well, they are very part time. Amie comes one afternoon a week, and she helps with editing (it’s scary to give that job to someone else, but she does a great job!) and order fulfillment. Sarah is the other gal, and she will be coming to the studio a few nights a week to do ordering appointments with clients.
Both of these gals (okay, we are all the same age, can I call us ‘gals’?) are clients of mine, which was a big factor in why they were hired. That, and their looks. I only work with pretty people
See for yourself, here’s Amie’s family from last September!

Her little guys are so adorable!

Whenever I do a family session, I like to do a picture of just the parents together (if I forget during our session, remind me!)…love this shot of them together![]()

And of course, these are awesome family portraits, such a beautiful family!!!
Your posts always put a smile on my face. This one is no different, though I have to admit to laughing out loud at some of the random tidbits you shared here.
Love the photos of Amie’s family.
