Mother’s around the country REJOICE! | High School Senior Photography, Monticello, MN

This summer, I’ve had my two oldest kids home with me (6&9) during the day.  My little guy goes to daycare 4 days a week, and the other two are expected to keep themselves entertained…while trying not to rot their brains from television overload.   Even though we’ve attempted to put a cap on how much television/computer time happens during the day…I’m pretty sure we’re over the ‘recommended limit’…but that ‘good luck charlie’ show is hilarious…and I’m sure they’re learning some life lessons from it, right?  As the summer has gone on…I can tell that Lucy and Riley have lost all patience for each other.  I suppose that 3 year gap in ages can only be ignored for so long before they crave the stimulation of their peers.  I finally found a little friend to come over to play with Riley the other day, he was SO excited.  He kept telling the kid, “this is my FIRST play-date ever!”  Way to play it cool, Ry!

I have begun a mental countdown until the first day of school…even though I get emotional when I see my small kids get on the bus that first day (awww, my babies!), within 10 minutes of waving goodbye, you can guarantee I will celebrating with a Northern Lite Late from caribou, a pedicure and a day of soap opera’s.  Orrrrrr, I’ll  just make some Folgers coffee and hang out on facebook for awhile.  Both options sound nice.

In a last ditch attempt to play the role of good mother, I’m taking the crew to meet some friends at Elm Creek Park for the day.  Should be fun!

Love this senior session!  It was sooo hot the day we did this…thankfully, she had her makeup/hair done by Exhilaration Spa and Salon, and she managed to stay beautiful and flawless the entire night!  I can NOT say the same for my own look.  Pretty sure it looked like I jumped in a lake fully clothed and then picked up my camera.

This next shot in b&w was chosen as ‘the picture of hte day’ by my lab~I thought that was pretty cool!!
