voluntary torture | St. Cloud, MN high school senior photography

In a room that would make most people hyperventilate…four children play for hours on end.  We are up at the ‘trailers’ in Alex on this chilly weekend.  The cousins have  locked themselves away in the worlds’ tiniest bedroom (6ft by 5 ft) for the entire afternoon.  They have been quite creative with their choice of make-believe games.  Their new fav:  orphanage….with an Orphan Annie twist.  As in…the beloved Miss Hannigan (portrayed with some mad acting skills by my 10yr old niece Sophie) is not only cruel and mean-spirited …but quite possibly down-right violent….if the shaking of the trailer and the shrill screams being emitted are any indication.  However I’m going to allow this game they’re playing…it beats last month when we caught the girls playing Barbies with a seriously twisted storyline involving kidnapping and human trafficking….don’t ask.   Whatever happened to playing ‘My Little Pony’ and kick the can?

Oh well…I’m sure the kids will turn out fine, right?  Hopefully they turn out as sweet and kind as the beautiful Ashley!  She was so much fun to photograph!  I love how her images turned out…even though we were heckled by some drunken idiots in town (I think I was more rattled than she was!)…Ashley was a trooper!

What a great variety of shots Kelly and one gorgeous girl! I think all of us photographers run into drunken idiots, especially when shooting on back country roads or in the middle of a field out in the country, lol.

Well first of all, I have to say that your intro story made me bust a gut laughing. You always have the most interesting stories to share. As for your session, these images are terrific. She looks fabulous and I love the variety.
