I have a lot of family sessions coming up in the next month…and one of the big questions is, “what do I wear??”  Well, if you heard the rumor that MC Hammer pants were back in style…you are right!!!  But if you wear them to our session, I will be forced to tease you mercilessly…as well as feature you as a ‘fashion icon’ on my little blog here!

The following are examples and ideas of how to coordinate colors and style for each member of your family…we are in the year 2010 -wearing matching button down jean shirts and khaki pants is not required!!

This next one is considered maternity…but I LOVE the color palette…heck, I love the maternity shirt, I’d wear it even though I’m not pregnant!

These next two are a little too ’summery’ for fall pictures, but I still like the colors and the fun accessories…

‘fashion expert’:  types the girl in the blue plaid pajama bottoms.  She is also sporting a hot pink scrunchie in her hair (circa 1987),  and purple slippers with a giant hole in the middle right heel. 

Okay, obviously there is no expert advice coming from yours truly…that’s why I buy these ‘fashion plate pictures’ once a month, so the average family can see how easy it is to look stylish, cute and coordinated for pictures!  And since these outfits are all from gap and old navy, you can rest assured that you won’t be spending thousands of dollars to look good. 

These outfits are casual and say to me “I’m fun, I’m hip and I don’t look like I’m trying too hard!”  Okay, the clothes don’t actually speak to me…this is just a feeling they emote to me.   Is emote spelled right?  It isn’t coming up on spellcheck as incorrect, but it looks weird.   Shhhh, Kelly, put the keyboard down and walk away.
