jen and patrick | destination wedding photographer

So, tomorrow is Thanksgiving…and I have sooo much to thank God for…an amazing family, awesome kids, a husband that puts up with me, and a job that I love. One thing that I’m working on being thankful for is the place that I call home. Minnesota. It’s really hard to appreciate the cold weather when you travel to somewhere tropical like Mexico. The weather there is SO amazing. And the scenery is stunning. As I sit here typing, the snow is falling and the wind is whipping…not my favorite type of weather. I’ll just have to learn to be grateful. For a different kind of scenery…in a place that has more than one season!

Here are some wedding pictures from my cousin Jen’s wedding in Riviera Mya. I’m so happy that she found a guy like Patrick-they compliment each other perfectly. I’ll have more pictures from our trip soon, but for now~these will have to tide you over (hint, hint Mom and Aunt Mary!!).

These two shots were taken about 20 feet apart and within a minute of each other. I just think it’s so cool how the backgrounds are so drastically different from one angle of the beach to the other…

These next two are some of the first pictures of Jen and Patrick taken during their ‘first look’ of each other.

This next picture was taken with my point and shoot out of the plane window on our flight home-how cool are those clouds?

Stunning – perfect l0, the clouds where worth a contest that could win you a gallery spot ($$$$)! As I write this I’m looking at the last shot on beach about 3″ from bottom just showing Pat & jen’s feet and the sand and it’s an interesting perspective to add to albulm. the farm | st. cloud family photographer

Oh my, I have got to get caught up…lots of sessions to come on the old blog… not to mention facebook… I need to clone myself (but one with better work ethics, a british accent and a perfect size 6 body).

This lovely family had me come out to their family farm in St. Cloud. It was a fabulous spot for taking pictures…I wish it was a bit closer to me, I’d sneak over there more! We met on a Saturday in October when it was over 80 degree’s. The poor kids were melting in their knit sweaters! Oh, and can I just say, if I had an award show (which gives me an idea…hmmmm) the award for the most stylish family goes to these folks. I loved how all of their outfits worked together without looking forced or un-natural. Take notes, people!!

When they were booking the session I asked how many kids would be in the pictures. They said ten. I asked if there would be cocktails afterwards. They said, “of course!”

alex & jeff | minneapolis wedding photography

Okay, I’m back…a little tanner, a little fatter, and a little wiser (read: beer before liquor, never been sicker). I can’t wait to share some pictures from my trip…not to mention my cousin’s beautiful wedding…but first I have to play a little catch-up.

I’ve been dying to share these pictures for a few weeks now. These two are absolutely gorgeous, inside and out! They got married earlier this fall, and wanted a few more pictures in their wedding finery (who says you can’t wear that dress again?). We didn’t exactly ‘trash the dress’…but there was some sitting in dirt roads…is that trashy?

This next picture makes me want to pull out a good romance novel. I know this type of shot has been done before, but I still LOVE it!

Ahhh, feel the love…as we trespass in my favorite field. One of these days I’m going to work up the courage to ask permission. But until then, we’ll just keep ducking when cars drive past.

Adios amigos

Just one last little share before I go south of the border…I have a few sessions that need blogging (not to mention the pile that still need to be edited)…but I am running out of time this morning! I just finished one of the easiest newborn sessions I’ve had in awhile…just over an hour long-amazing! I’m so glad we were able to fit it in before I left.

Here’s my new favorite picture of my kiddo’s…and no, I can never get them all looking at me at the same time. It’s a skill set I do not possess when it comes to my own offspring.

cute kid contest winner gets a run for his money | buffalo newborn-kid-family photographer!

About 6 months ago I ran a ‘cutest kid contest’. It was a pretty intense voting situation lasting over a week (note to self: next year limit voting time so people don’t hate me). When the dust settled, we had our winner! A super-cute 2 yr old little boy. Then the mom told me she was pregnant and she wanted to save her free session for her newborn. Well, who am I to deny a fresh newborn? Love ‘em.

So here they are, cute kid contest winner, and winner by proxy: Mr. B and Mr. B! Hmmm…maybe they could start a business together someday, ooh, I know-a bed and breakfast. “Welcome to B&B’s B&B”! Okay, too much coffee today, I’ll stop.

I’m not sure what he’s sad about, but I like it!

I’m not gonna lie to ya, this next shot was waaay harder than I envisioned. I guess I assumed it would be the baby I would have to worry about…seems I forgot a 3 yr old might not be too fond of having his new writhing, scratching brother plopped on top of him! The baby was literally grabbing chunks of his brother’s flesh. Well, we got one shot anyways!

Steph and Matt | minneapolis engagement photography

Good morning everyone! I am in an exceptional mood today…seeing as I will be on a beach in less than three days! I do have one teeny tiny complaint. Could it please snow tomorrow? I mean a huge storm (think Halloween ’91)…I think that would make going to Mexico that much sweeter! Right now it’s gorgeous outside…I didn’t even wear a coat this morning…”November, where you at?” I know, I know, I shouldn’t talk like this…with my luck, it will snow-the morning of my flight!

I got to do engagement pictures a few weeks ago…we had a good time hanging out in the cities…I’m excited for their wedding next fall! Thanks for chauffeuring me around you guys! Did I tell you I got lost on the way home? Even Helen (my Garmin) couldn’t help me.

Here they are at the bar where they first met…I think he proposed here too…I better double check and get my facts straight, my memory is horrid.

Matt might be a wee bit obsessed with baseball. So, we had to stop off at the stadium. This is the first time I’ve been there, it looks awesome inside! Next year, I’m going.
